Honduras: Insuficiencia de arroz puede incrementar los precios

According to the president of the Millers Association of Honduras, Michell Hawit, at the middle of July, probably rice will be increased in approximately 30 to 50 lempiras by QM.

The country imported 93.600 MT of rice in 2006 and more additional imports were authorized. This year they will import some more than 95.000 MT, amount that calculates will not be sufficient to supply the necessities of the country. The considered amount to be imported in 2008 is about 97,000 MT.
